OUTR SAUNA WARRANTY
Last Updated: September 2026
This warranty is provided by:
OUTR Sauna
This document sets out the voluntary warranty provided by OUTR Sauna for products supplied directly by OUTR Sauna or an authorised reseller.
This warranty is provided in addition to, and does not exclude, restrict or modify, any rights or remedies available under the Australian Consumer Law (ACL).
1. Warranty Coverage
NOVA – True Outdoor Infrared Sauna
Standard Warranty
12 months – all parts and components
This includes, subject to the terms and exclusions in this warranty:
- structural cabin components;
- infrared heaters;
- electrical and electronic components;
- controls and Wi-Fi components;
- lighting and audio components;
- glass, hardware and fittings where a manufacturing defect exists.
Optional Extended Heater Warranty
Customers who purchase the optional 10-Year Heater Warranty Upgrade receive:
10 years – infrared heating elements
All other Nova components remain subject to the standard 12-month voluntary warranty unless otherwise stated.
The extended heater warranty applies only to the infrared heating elements themselves and does not extend the warranty period applying to controllers, wiring, power supplies, electrical components, labour or other components.
SOL – Traditional Outdoor Sauna
Standard Warranty
12 months – all parts and components
This includes, subject to the terms and exclusions in this warranty:
- structural cabin components;
- timber components;
- doors and glass;
- hardware and fittings;
- supplied electrical and electronic components; and
- other components supplied as part of the sauna.
Optional Extended Structural Warranty
Customers who purchase the optional 5-Year Structural Cabin Warranty Upgrade receive:
5 years – structural cabin
The extended structural warranty applies to the primary load-bearing structural components forming the sauna cabin.
It does not extend the voluntary warranty period applying to:
- sauna heater;
- heater elements;
- electrical components;
- controllers or Wi-Fi equipment;
- lighting;
- benches;
- handles, hinges or hardware;
- decorative timber or trims;
- roofing finishes or coatings; or
- other non-structural components.
Those components remain subject to their applicable standard warranty.
Any separate manufacturer's warranty provided by Harvia or another component manufacturer operates in addition to this OUTR Sauna warranty and your rights under the Australian Consumer Law.
2. Parts-Only Voluntary Warranty
Unless expressly stated otherwise, the OUTR Sauna voluntary warranty is a parts-only warranty.
Where OUTR confirms that a component has a manufacturing defect covered by this voluntary warranty, OUTR will, at its discretion, provide a replacement component, repair the affected component, or provide an equivalent replacement component.
The voluntary warranty does not include labour, electrician charges, technician call-out fees, removal, dismantling, reinstallation, travel, crane hire or other site-access costs.
However, this limitation applies only to the additional voluntary OUTR Sauna warranty. It does not limit any entitlement the customer may have to recover labour, installation, transport or other costs under the Australian Consumer Law.
3. Australian Consumer Law
Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law.
You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage.
You are also entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced if the goods fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure.
These rights are in addition to the benefits provided by this OUTR Sauna warranty.
4. Warranty Start Date
The applicable voluntary warranty period begins on the date the product is delivered to the original purchaser.
The warranty applies to the original purchaser and is not transferable unless OUTR Sauna agrees otherwise in writing.
5. What the Warranty Covers
The voluntary warranty covers genuine manufacturing defects in materials or workmanship occurring during the applicable warranty period under normal use.
The product must have been installed, operated and maintained in accordance with:
- OUTR Sauna installation instructions;
- the product owner's manual;
- applicable manufacturer instructions;
- electrical requirements; and
- reasonable maintenance requirements.
Warranty coverage applies to the particular component affected by the manufacturing defect.
Replacement of an individual component does not automatically entitle the customer to replacement of the complete sauna.
Nothing in this section limits any remedy available under the Australian Consumer Law.
6. Structural Cabin Warranty Definition
Where an extended structural cabin warranty applies, Structural Cabin means the primary structural components forming the load-bearing enclosure of the sauna.
It does not include cosmetic or non-structural components such as:
exterior finishes or coatings, benches, decorative trims, fascia boards, handles, hinges, catches, screws, brackets, fasteners, glass, lighting, electrical components, heaters, controllers or other removable components.
The structural warranty covers manufacturing defects affecting the structural integrity of the cabin. It does not cover normal movement or cosmetic changes associated with natural timber.
7. Natural Timber Characteristics
OUTR Sauna products incorporate natural timber.
Timber responds naturally to temperature, humidity, sunlight, moisture and seasonal environmental changes.
Normal characteristics may include:
- variations in grain, colour and tone;
- knots and natural markings;
- minor expansion and contraction;
- minor surface checking;
- fine cracks;
- joint movement;
- resin or sap marks;
- gradual colour changes; and
- minor movement as timber acclimatises.
These characteristics are inherent properties of natural timber and are not, by themselves, manufacturing defects.
A sauna regularly experiences significant variations in temperature and humidity, and some natural timber movement should therefore be expected.
8. Outdoor Exposure
Products represented by OUTR Sauna as suitable for outdoor installation may be installed outdoors when installed and maintained in accordance with the supplied instructions.
Outdoor materials will naturally change appearance over time.
Environmental exposure may cause:
- colour fading;
- greying;
- tonal variation;
- surface weathering;
- minor checking;
- expansion and contraction; and
- differences between exposed and shaded areas.
These natural changes are not, by themselves, manufacturing defects.
9. Timber Maintenance
Routine timber maintenance is the owner's responsibility.
Outdoor saunas should be regularly inspected and may require recoating, painting, oiling or other appropriate exterior timber protection depending on environmental exposure.
Saunas receiving high levels of direct sunlight, rain, humidity, salt air or other harsh environmental exposure may require more frequent maintenance.
Failure to undertake reasonable maintenance may result in deterioration that is not attributable to a manufacturing defect.
Customers should follow OUTR Sauna's current timber care and maintenance recommendations.
10. Roofing & Weatherproofing
Where an OUTR Sauna is supplied with a dedicated waterproof roofing system, the roofing system must be correctly installed and maintained.
The owner should periodically inspect roofing, seals, flashing and relevant joints for damage or deterioration.
Damage resulting from incorrect installation, modification, blocked drainage, standing water or a failure to undertake reasonable maintenance is not covered by the voluntary warranty to the extent that those circumstances caused the damage.
11. Site Preparation & Drainage
The purchaser is responsible for providing a suitable installation location.
The sauna must be installed on a stable, appropriately load-bearing and reasonably level surface with suitable drainage.
Water must be able to drain away from and beneath the sauna.
Damage caused by site conditions including:
- standing water;
- flooding;
- inadequate drainage;
- ground movement;
- unsuitable foundations;
- site settlement; or
- installation on an unsuitable surface
is not covered by the voluntary warranty to the extent the site condition caused the damage.
This follows the useful site-preparation protections in your existing warranty.
12. Electrical Installation
Where the product requires electrical installation, that work must be undertaken by a suitably licensed electrician in accordance with applicable Australian requirements and manufacturer instructions.
This includes, where applicable, installation and connection of:
- sauna heaters;
- control systems;
- Wi-Fi modules;
- isolators;
- sensors; and
- associated electrical equipment.
Damage resulting from incorrect electrical installation, incorrect supply voltage, electrical overload, unauthorised modification or installation contrary to manufacturer requirements is not covered by the voluntary warranty to the extent that the electrical issue caused the damage.
OUTR Sauna may request relevant electrical compliance documentation when reasonably necessary to assess an electrical warranty claim.
13. Heater Operation & Ventilation
Sauna heaters must be installed and operated within the manufacturer's specified operating requirements.
Heating performance depends on several factors including ventilation, ambient temperature, electrical supply, sauna configuration and correct installation.
Reduced heating performance caused by blocked or restricted ventilation, unsuitable electrical supply, incorrect installation, excessive heat loss or operation contrary to manufacturer instructions does not constitute a heater manufacturing defect.
14. Installation
Where a sauna is customer-assembled, installation must be completed in accordance with the supplied instructions.
Where professional installation is provided, installation may be undertaken by appropriately qualified independent subcontractors engaged by OUTR Sauna.
Damage caused during installation by a contractor engaged directly by the customer and not contracted by OUTR Sauna is not covered by OUTR's voluntary product warranty.
Where installation is sold or arranged by OUTR Sauna as part of the customer's purchase, nothing in this warranty excludes any rights the customer may have in relation to those installation services under the Australian Consumer Law.
15. Maintenance Responsibilities
Routine maintenance is not warranty work.
Depending on the product and installation, routine maintenance may include:
- timber protection and recoating;
- cleaning;
- checking roofing and weatherproofing;
- checking seals;
- minor door or hinge adjustment;
- tightening hardware;
- maintaining drainage;
- maintaining ventilation openings; and
- following heater manufacturer maintenance instructions.
Normal maintenance costs are the responsibility of the owner.
16. What Is Not Covered by the Voluntary Warranty
The voluntary warranty does not cover damage or deterioration caused by:
- misuse, abuse or accidental damage;
- incorrect installation;
- unauthorised modification;
- incorrect electrical installation or supply;
- operation contrary to instructions;
- failure to undertake reasonable maintenance;
- unsuitable site conditions;
- standing water or inadequate drainage;
- flooding, storm, lightning, fire or extreme weather;
- pest, termite, insect or rodent damage;
- impact damage;
- third-party components not supplied or authorised by OUTR Sauna;
- customer or third-party repairs or alterations that cause or contribute to the problem;
- normal wear and tear;
- normal timber movement or weathering;
- cosmetic changes caused by normal environmental exposure; or
- corrosion resulting from environmental exposure where the corrosion is not attributable to a manufacturing defect.
An exclusion only applies to the extent that the excluded circumstance caused or contributed to the claimed issue.
Nothing in these exclusions limits rights that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law.
17. Coastal & Saltwater Environments
Salt-laden air can accelerate corrosion and deterioration of metal components.
Saunas installed near beaches, saltwater pools, canals, estuaries or other marine environments require increased cleaning and maintenance.
Surface corrosion or environmental deterioration caused by salt exposure is not covered by the voluntary warranty where it is attributable to environmental exposure rather than a manufacturing defect.
18. Cosmetic Damage & Delivery Inspection
Customers should inspect the sauna and packaging as soon as reasonably practicable following delivery.
Any visible freight or cosmetic damage should be photographed and reported to OUTR Sauna promptly so that the matter can be investigated with the freight provider.
Prompt notification assists OUTR Sauna in determining when and how damage occurred.
19. Warranty Assessment
Before providing a remedy under this voluntary warranty, OUTR Sauna must be given a reasonable opportunity to assess the reported issue.
OUTR Sauna may reasonably request:
- proof of purchase;
- photographs;
- videos;
- serial numbers;
- installation photographs;
- electrical compliance information where relevant;
- maintenance information;
- remote diagnostic information; or
- reasonable access to inspect the product.
OUTR Sauna may arrange assessment by a technician or appropriately qualified independent person where necessary.
20. Unauthorised Repairs & Modifications
Customers should not dismantle, modify or arrange third-party repairs relating to a claimed defect before giving OUTR Sauna a reasonable opportunity to assess the issue.
Where unauthorised work prevents OUTR Sauna from determining the original cause of a fault, damages the product or contributes to additional damage, voluntary warranty coverage may be affected to the extent reasonably attributable to that work.
Costs incurred for unauthorised repairs or works will not ordinarily be reimbursed under the voluntary warranty unless approved by OUTR Sauna beforehand.
Nothing in this section limits rights available under the Australian Consumer Law.
21. Warranty Claim Expenses
For claims made solely under the OUTR Sauna voluntary warranty, customers are responsible for labour, removal, reinstallation, electrician, technician, site access and similar service costs unless OUTR Sauna expressly agrees otherwise.
OUTR Sauna will cover the cost of supplying an approved replacement part under the voluntary warranty.
Where return of a component is reasonably required for assessment, OUTR Sauna will advise the customer of the applicable return process before the component is sent.
These arrangements apply to OUTR Sauna's additional voluntary warranty only. Where the Australian Consumer Law requires OUTR Sauna to bear costs associated with providing a statutory remedy, OUTR Sauna will comply with those obligations.
22. Optional Extended Warranty Upgrades
Optional extended warranty upgrades provide additional voluntary warranty benefits beyond the standard OUTR Sauna warranty.
Extended warranty upgrades must be purchased at the same time as the original sauna purchase and included on the original order. Extended warranty upgrades cannot be purchased, added or activated retrospectively after the original purchase has been completed.
The extended warranty period begins from the original product delivery date, not from the date the standard warranty expires.
Nova – 10-Year Infrared Heater Warranty Upgrade
Extends voluntary warranty coverage for the infrared heating elements only to 10 years from the original warranty commencement date. All other components remain subject to their applicable standard warranty.
SOL – 5-Year Structural Cabin Warranty Upgrade
Extends voluntary warranty coverage for the structural cabin only to 5 years from the original warranty commencement date. This upgrade does not extend coverage for the heater, electrical components, controls, Wi-Fi equipment, lighting or other non-structural components.
Nova 10-Year Heater Warranty
Extends voluntary warranty coverage for the infrared heating elements only to 10 years from the original warranty commencement date.
SOL 5-Year Structural Cabin Warranty
Extends voluntary warranty coverage for the structural cabin only to 5 years from the original warranty commencement date.
Purchasing an extended warranty is not required to obtain rights under the Australian Consumer Law.
23. Harvia Components – SOL
Where the SOL is supplied with a Harvia heater or control system, applicable Harvia manufacturer warranty benefits may also apply.
Upon receiving your sauna, customers should complete any required Harvia product/warranty registration.
Harvia warranty coverage is subject to Harvia's applicable terms and conditions.
Any manufacturer's warranty operates in addition to rights against OUTR Sauna under the Australian Consumer Law. OUTR Sauna will not require a customer to deal exclusively with the manufacturer where OUTR Sauna has obligations as the supplier under the ACL.
